On behalf of the WEF, the letter of intent to open the GovTech center was signed by the Forum's President, Børge Brende, while on the Ukrainian side, the initiative was led by the Vice Prime Minister for Innovations, Development of Education, Science, and Technologies — Minister of Digital Transformation, Mykhailo Fedorov.
Since 2017, the World Economic Forum has been opening revolutionary C4FIR centers, but the GovTech center in Kyiv will be only the second such center in the world for global government technologies. The opening of the first center is scheduled to take place soon in Berlin.
We are excited that the Ukrainian center will be opened based on the CDTO Campus project, as it will serve as a platform for bringing together the public and private sectors to maximize public governance through technology and innovation. It will also be a springboard for Ukrainian businesses and startups, facilitating the search for foreign partners and the exchange of digitalization experiences.
“We commend the inspirational work of the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine as they implement a strong digitalization agenda under the most challenging circumstances. This does not only prove the resilience of Ukraine’s government and citizens but also the digital infrastructure of the country,”
said Jeremy Jurgens, Managing Director, World Economic Forum, Switzerland.
